This quote holds so incredibly true, when I think of this absolutely amazing family. They have been through more than anyone should have to bear, but they continue to grow stronger each and every day, just by leaning on one another.
Being blessed to capture some magical forest-like memories for this exceptional group, really opened my eyes as to what the bonds of family truly mean. Just watching the kids interact with each other - whether it be tickling one another, laughing, climbing trees or watching Dad overhead press Mom - you could see the admiration in each of their eyes. Mom and Dad have the perfect setting on their children's ropes... not too tight, not too loose. They were free to roam about the park, and help each other up the biggest tree and play within the hanging moss.
I'm honored to have photographed Cara, not once, but twice now (see our other session here!) - and know I can always look to her for inspiration. I already knew what an amazing, kind, sincere human being she was - and now that I've met her husband, Rob, I can see exactly why their bonds within their family are so strong. It was a pleasure photographing the Pettit family, and getting to spend a little bit of time with them. There's really something to be felt within your own soul, when you know you're in the presence of such strength, perseverance and most importantly, love.
